2008 Porsche 911 Carrera
An incredibly well optioned late build 997.1 6-spd Coupe with only 30k miles. The Arctic Silver finish, according to paint meter readings, remains wholly original and the car shows no sign of collision or damage history. Sold new in Phoenix, it was relocated in 2011 at around 7k miles to the Bay Area and has been a warm West Coast Climate vehicle since new. There are none of the tell-tale winter or wet driving signs as the undercarriage, engine bay, body panel crevices, etc. showing no sign of ever being wet and is free of dust and other deposits.
This stellar Carrera was sold in our San Francisco Showroom to the current seller approximately 6.5 years ago at around 26k miles. It was a meticulously kept vehicle then, and has remained in top condition since. It is also a very highly optioned car with an original MSRP in excess of $82k. Notable options include: 19" Carrera Classic Wheels, Sport Chrono Plus Pkg, Bose Audio, Porsche Exclusive Arctic Silver Painted Console. A detailed build spec sheet and options list can be found below.
A 30k mile service has been completed in preparation for sale, as well as replacement of the hood shocks, and brake fluid flush. Overall the vehicle is in stellar mechanical condition. The engine casings and engine bay are free of oil stains or spray, and the engine is dry underneath. Brakes pads read approximately 60% life remaining, and the tires are at 9/32nd's and 8/32nds front and rear (80%, 90%). The DME is mostly clean, with one 1 ignition above range 2 (approximately 525 engine hours ago).
The Stone Grey leather interior could pass for 2 years old and is commensurate of a 30k mile car. It shows no bolster wear, sun damage, fading, or shrinking. The carpets are free of fade and show no abnormal wear, the door cards, and door sills are free of scuffs, and the switchgear does not have the typical "sticky button" affliction of most cars from this era.
The vehicle is being sold with the original owner's portfolio, factory literature, a single master key, and receipt for the most recent service. Carfax is clean, further confirming it's apparent damage free history.
A little FAQ to answer the IMS bearing question: 2008 received an updated heavy duty Dual-Row bearing in order to eliminate the failure issue that came in the earlier M96 engines. Because the new bearing was much larger and more substantial than previous iterations, the IMS bearing on the 2008 models are NOT serviceable (the bearing is much larger than the access port). 2008 is by far the best version of the M96 powerplant, but does come with the caveat that the bearing cannot be replaced except at the time of an engine rebuild. Overall, IMS Bearing failure on 2008 models virtually is a non-issue.
