1973 Porsche Carrera RS Touring

This is an original, preserved, numbers matching M472 RS Touring. It currently has just over 106k km on the odometer. One of 30 RS's painted in special order India Red, it accounts for less than 1% of total production. Our body shop estimates it was resprayed approximately 20 years ago. The respray is starting to show signs of age such as cracking and crazing on the bumpers and some chipping on the ducktail. With the help of some noted experts, we are piecing together it's history. It was sold to Japan in 1978 where it was part of 2 collections before coming to the US in 2007 and has resided here since. A COA is available upon request, however, we prefer to point clients to the 'Carrera RS' book by Dr. Konradsheim as it gives a more accurate description of the car.
The car is currently in running condition. The engine is leaking oil from the typical areas; valve covers and chain housings. There are some small rust bubbles above the battery boxes but the shell overall is solid. The transmission shifts fine and the brakes function correctly, the steering feels solid and the suspension is tight. The interior is original and clean with the exception of dried out rubber.
