1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE
The Mercedes-Benz W108 and W109 models were built from 1965 - 1972, and of these models, the SE Cabriolets were only built from 1968-1971 - with a very low production run of only 2,500 for the United States market. This particular example is a rare Blue Pate California car. With ony 81,591 Miles from new, significant records and service history is provided.
This 280 SE featurs power windows, power steering, Bosch fuel-injection, four-wheel disc brakes, and the vertically stacked 5-inch cathedral headlights. It is powered by a 2.8 liter, in-line 6 cylinder, generating 180 hp. Also for the 1969 year model, the hood and grille were lowered by a couple of inches, giving the 280 SE a more modern appearance. It is a very strong example, with a precise gearbox, and is a true pleasure to drive. It is mechanically sound, as well as being a remarkable example of a 44 year old classic.
Well-maintained SE convertibles are prized possessions today, and are commanding strong prices. This fantastic Mercedes Benz is capable of eclipsing 140 mph, and are one the most sophisticated cars of that era.
