1948 Indian Chief Roadmaster
With a motorcycle-collector owner for over the past thirty years, this is a daily running and unrestored Indian Chief Roadmaster.
From what we can tell, this bike is 99% original. It's current owner has ridden the Indian weekly in the past thirty years of his ownership, and has replaced only rubber hoses, leads (when worn), spark plugs, and oil when needed. To properly restore a bike like this costs around $40,000, however, the true value with this Chief Roadmaster lies in its immediate "ridability". This motorcycle kicks over on the first start and rides really wonderfully. The drum brakes grip quite well, with the Hydraulic saddle soaking up the bumps.
These Chief Roadmasters achieve high dollar auction results when fully restored, but again, this is as a daily rider that is wonderful unrestored. With everything in perfectly working condition, this presents an opportunity for both a unique and rare daily rider, as well as a possible long-term investment opportunity.
